Monday, September 6, 2010Conclave Rules to Live By
1. When you join Conclave, you will be a Noobsauce ranked member for two weeks. You will then be promoted to Sr Noobsauce until 30 days have passed (at a minimum) and you have verified your toon(s) on the website. This is a feeling out period for both the new recruit and the rest of the guild. As a Noobsauce ranked member, you will not be able to withdraw anything from the guild bank. You can make requests of Conclave Members and above for items you need for your toon. In order to be promoted to Member, you will need to register here on the website and verify your toon(s) with the guild via the website. Click here for help with verifying your toon(s).
2. Be courteous and respectful to other guild members. Continue this trend with folks outside the guild. When interacting with others (i.e., in Stormwind, or as part of a pick-up group (cross Realm or not), dueling, questing, etc.), inside or outside the guild, don't trash talk, or otherwise act like a jerk/idiot. You represent Conclave whoever you interact with, and your actions/words are a reflection of how others view Conclave as a whole.
3. DO NOT take items from the guild bank to sell on the Auction House, to a vendor for personal profit or to give to someone not associated with Conclave. Conclave's guild bank is for ITS members' use, not a member's sibling, parent, cousin, friend, or whatever. The Bank Lead is responsible for occasionally weeding out stale items or items there are an overabundance of in the guild bank to sell. ALL proceeds gained from these sales are deposited back into the guild bank.
4. Keep Guild chat and Ventrilo chatter PG-rated. Stay away from political, sexual and religious discussions (too many wars have been started over these sorts of topics - it would be good for the guild to avoid such drama) and please minimize your use of foul language (f-bombs and other equally offensive swear words, for instance, are a BIG no-no) - we have several kids in the guild. Use of Ventrilo is for Guild members. Friends of Guild Members may be invited onto Vent on occasion. Use of vent for PUGs, is allowed to some degree. As long as the use of Vent for a PUG has close to the majority of Guild members on vent for the group/raid, it is ok. 1 even 2 Guild Members and 20 PUGs on the server is not OK. Until members (all ranks) take more responsibility for vent, this will be the case.
5. Chronic complaints about being bored, or having nothing to do, on guild chat gets old real fast as well, so please keep whining/complaining ad nauseum to a minimum.
6. Please don't ask or beg for gold (whether it's from other guildies, or random joes and josettes in the game). It's really poor form. Use your professions to get you some gold, or ask some guildies (or find a PuG) and do an instance run or three and sell off whatever you get from the run.
7. Don't hesitate to ask for help from other guildies, but understand that others may be in the middle of something and may not be able to help you immediately. If you need to run an instance, or are having difficulty completing a quest, talk with one of the Leads and set up a time to get it done. Please allow 2 or 3 days advance notice.
8. Check the schedule here on the website early and often. It will hold important information regarding guild meetings, guild events, instances, raids, etc.. When Conclave runs raids and/or heroic (or normal) instances, you will need to sign up for them/confirm your acceptance (if invited on in-game calendar). Members that sign up for/confirm acceptance of events are to do their best to attend and be on time, as their spot may be given away. Those not signed up MUST understand that they get secondary spots if available.
9. When you are in an instance or raid, use common sense and listen to the person leading you through it. If they advise you to stay back (to avoid aggroing everything in sight, for example), stay toward the back of the group. In raids, it's especially important to listen to the raid leader, else you could well cause a wipe of the entire raid group. Purposely pulling a Leeeeerrrrrrrrrroooooooooooyyyyyyyy! will reflect EXTREMELY badly on Conclave. DO NOT DO THIS!!
10. Try not to be a ninja (ie swooping in to steal a chest or other loot) inside or outside a party or even if you're questing by yourself. It's really poor form (again). If someone ninjas something from you (ie, grabs an herb, an ore vein, fishing pool, and the like), TAKE THE HIGH ROAD and don't "pay them back" by ninja-ing the person who ninja'd something out from under you.
11. Conclave generally doesn't condone selling items you make via your professions or drops you get to other members of the guild. Support YOUR Guild and Guild mates. Donate to the Guild Bank. Use you professions to help out lower lvl members with Gearing up and mats to up thier skills if you have a surplus. However a handout should not always be expected or "ever" demanded. It *is* fine, however, to ask a guildie to provide you with the necessary mats for high-level enchants, or potions, as an example. It's understood that we all need to make some money selling stuff (to other players or at the Auction House), and it's encouraged.
12. Excessive showboating/bragging is also frowned upon, regardless of what level you are. Sharing your successes is highly encouraged, but constantly yapping about how great you are, how phat your loot is, etc. gets old REAL fast.
13. Conclave has a horde guild called Evalcnoc on the Firetree server so we Conclavians all have some place to go when Doomhammer has turned into Doomedhammer. You are welcome to create a horde toon on Firetree and join the guild there if you like, make any class toon, and play it/them as often as you wish. There is no guild bank for Evalcnoc, as generally, folks only play their toons when Doomhammer is unavailable. There is now a simple website to represent Evalcnoc.
14. Each Conclavian is held accountable for his or her actions inside and outside of the guild. Everyone is subject to a "three-strike" rule, meaning that an infraction of the above guild rules, and/or doing foolish or thoughtless things that would cause Conclave to be seen in a poor light to the general populace of the realm will win you a warning. Warnings are NOT something you folks want to win, however. If you receive three warnings, you and your alts will be removed from the guild and not be allowed back. Once you have been told of your infraction, the Council will discuss the severity of the infraction and a determination as to whether you win a warning "check mark" will be made and you will be informed of the decision. If you plan on Raiding with the Guild read this.
And this is how not to be. (Something funny)"Members Only (Noobsauce & above)"
